Good list Jim. Maybe the question should be "Who hasn't?"

Hi,

If you model the transition era, there are some steam locos as well: Proto Heritage 0-8-0 in NP, BLI and Bachmann (IMSM), and occasionally some brass locos. Also, depending upon when and where you model, the NP was big on run through arrangments, so, for example, the Milwaukee Road, Great Northern, and Duluth, Winnipeg, and Pacific, used NP track to access Duluth until the NP was merged into BN. Point is, if you cannot get a NP RS-1 for example, you might run another road on your track.

Didn't P2K (pre-Walthers) also do their SD45 in the black and gold? I'm not an NP modeler (just an admirer), but I thought I recalled checking one out at the LHS one time back a few years ago. If Walthers ever does one of their featured/annual/catalog cover passenger trains in the North Coast Limited two tone green I will becomean NP modeler, if only for that train. I always thought that was such a beautiful train, starting back when AC Gilbert / American Flyer offered it in both S guage and HO.

Enjoy the hobby!

At first I thought that the question was about their Prototype Manufactures like ALCo. or Baldwin in Steam and EMD, GE etc. for Diesel!

And who can forget...

AHM;

FM C liner

EMD 8/9

FP45

Lionel;

Athearn mold GP 7/9

Lorne

You are correct, I have one but did not check to make sure.

Jeff

Did the NP have a C liner, EMD 8 or 9 or an FP 45?

Keith,

That would be a No. I think these were all made to match with the continuous production of the AHM/Rivarossi Passenger cars in the original (but not more famous Raymond Loewy) paint scheme. In my teens I had a friend that had all of the NP Passenger cars and ran them with a matched set of the AHM U25C's in the black/red/yellow/silver.

Rivarossi did do 1 small run of the NP Raymond Loewy Painted Passenger scheme of the Passenger cars under Walthers Distributership - I think around 1990. They quickly went buy-buy!

Athearn, of course for many years produced (incorrectly) their original F7's and passenger cars in a green paint with the yellow/red "Pinetree" paint. This was never applied to Passenger equipment. We as kids in the late 1960's/early 1970's always wandered about the prototype of the paint, with the little availablity of info of the time compared to today. Now we know!
