Warren Buffet is buying the vomit comet for one hundred bananas a share. He already holds twenty two per cent and is buying the outstanding seventy eight per cent. The BNSF B-O-R-E-D of Directors has supposedly approved the deal.

I wonder how this changes the North American rail servicce picture.

Thank you for your consideration and support.

I bet BNSF will not be buying anymore GEVO's if this goes through.

Atlas, Please Release a CN GP40-2L(W) in N! To do one in HO and not N is beyond cruel torture.

They will be selling Geico insurance policies by rail now, along with a small box of See's Candies with every policy sold!

Great news and a real boost for the rail sector...

Buffet is well known for leaving management teams alone, so I suspect he'll let Rose and company order whatever they need to get the job done...

If the press would only quit calling it Burlington Northern! Everyone knows it's the Big New Santa Fe.

Maybe Buffet is a railfan - if so, what are the odds the warbonnet will return!

Common Carrier purchase by priveter equity is not a good thing.

BUT

In this case Warren Buffet has a habit of buying companies that perform and have good management. They rarely make changes preferring to let companies do what they do best.

This may be the most bullish statement made on the future of railroading in a long time.

An AS616 would be appreciated.

That's over a 30% premium.

What I don't get is how he's going to move it to China...

On your Layout, do what you think is fun. If it doesn't work, fix it and learn from the experience so you will have fun next time. It's your Railroad.

CSX ain't got no geld and they're just a might shy on black ink--they do, however have one of the slickest advertising campaigns going; hang onto your stock because the next round of railroad mergers--the one that finally eliminates the Chicago Gateway--is going to put CSX under Armour Yellow.
