Very ingenious! I think there are some Smokey Valley railings on ebay for that unit.

Neat approach, I put new NWSL wheels on AHM's axles with flywheel in cab on Mashima motor.
Kept all old gears. Ran ok, not as good as Atlas TM .

There is a Yahoo Group dedicated to the U25C, (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/u25cproject/?yguid=150417839,) specifically repowering and upgrading the OLD Rivarossi U25C sold by AHM. They persuaded Kaslo Shops into making a new chassis and drive line, new trucks and a set of etched brass and stainless details for the grilles, handrail stanchions and a few other parts as well. It would still be nicce to have a NEW U25C though. Joe Hueber <lv4142003>

Everyone - Thanks for the compliments

Trebor - I done similar repowerings to a model power C430 and RS11. However, I used some bachmann spectrum can motors / flywheels that I mounted to the plastic frame with silicone caulking. What I didnt like about that is that the couplers were still mounted to the truck.

lv4142003, Yes I know about the group, The initial idea for this came from the pictures posted by Kaslo of their chassis, which basically consists of a flat plate with the motor mount bolted on. I believe Kaslo only provides the smaller fuel tank and if the larger fuel tank is needed you will have to use the Rivarossi one anyway.

I have the Kaslo detail parts and hopefully will begin that soon.

There were several reasons why I chose to do it myself; but I thought that the Kaslo chassis was a bit pricely but giving the small quantity kaslo probaly made the cost is understandable but I also had to justify owning a mill.
