I read some where that Wilford Brimley was, so I started wondering; anyone know of any actors, movie stars, singers, atheletes or any other type of well known celebrity, into model railroading or even railfanning?

There are quite a few, but from the stories I've seen most of them just hired someone to build them a layout or garden railroad. Yep, in some parts of the world you can make a pretty good living building layouts for wealthy people.

It's interesting and gets some attention for the hobby, but most of us aren't into that ball game from either side. I guess if I had that kind of money, and couldn't go anywhere without a camera in my face, or had to go on location shooting for 6 months at a time, I'd hire somebody to build me a layout too - and hope I got to see it someday

Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash (deceased) and some say Michael Jackson (no jokes, please). There are lots of others, but I'm drawing a blank right now.

Isn't that like an oxymoron?
