(after lowering and sill modification)

I think this is the nicest car MT released.

OK 20" wheels squatted down with 40 series rubber, and what a 800 watt stereo?

I don't think that the channel above the door would ever have been galvanized. The effect on the roof is awesome, but I would remove it from the top of the door guide.

Actually, the way the weathering is done on the roof, it wouldn't be so hard to put a flat roof on the car and blend into the MT paint. Hmm...

That is my biggest complaint with the car. I feel from looking at many photos that the cars should indeed have flat roofs and not peaked as Micro-trains has done them. I would have liked to have either the NP or MILW version but passed because of this.

Bryan

I could be wrong, but isn't this car a match for the NP cars? I thought it was a match for NP and not much else. I too wish they did the flat roof version.

Mike,
I'll have to look more closely one more time at my photos, but IIRC they were also flat on the NP's, I am sure they were on the Milwaukee's.

I didn't notice the roof...the sill was what caught my eye.

Tom, the original sill is accurate for both the NP's and MILW's cars. I cannot speak of the ATSF because I am just not familiar with those cars.

the Hi-Tech Ho car has a Flat roof !!
and P-S built the cars for CB&Q,NP,IC,D&RGW,
and Milwaukee.
ATSF cars were built by Transco in 1966,
had Stanray Roof and Ends,Youngstown Doors.
of course MT has to get some milage out of
the body,so why not roads that had them ??

Tom, that is really, really good.

Can you post a short description of what you did to lower the sills? I imagine it is easy, but
would love to learn any tips you have. Thx!

I just ran the body over a nice wide file until it looked straight. Frequent stops to compare with the prototype photo is recommended.

Besides filing the sills to lower them, did you likewise do the same with the frame to lower the body to a more prototypical appearance?
