I bought about 120 Triple Crown roadrailers over about a year period when they originally came out. Some I used testors dull coat to dull the shine, others I didn't. They where fine the few times I ran them over the years. I always kept them in platic storage boxes out of the light. The other weekend I pulled them out to run at the club's open house, and they all have started yellowing.

Has anyone else noticed this ???? I was thinking about buying some Swift rr this year, but if they're going to go south over time , there's no use in doing so.

Do you smoke? All my train stuff that was kept over at my grandpa's house when I was growing up ended up yellowing (he smoked constantly). I used one of the citrus cleaners to get rid of the stain. I have had my 37 roadrailers for the past four years and none show the yellowing you're talking about. I keep them in clear plastic containers (shoe boxes from The Container Store) in a free spot in the linen closet or on display on my bookcase. However, they are never exposed to any smoke.

Hi Kevin,

I've noticed the same problem with mine; I have about 120 of them as well. They were all kept away from sunight, in the original boxes, in a dry basement. Not all mine have yellowed, but many have, notably all their earlier efforts with the shiny finish. At first I thought it was the Dullcote, but then even the non-Dullcoted ones started to yellow. (I even switched to Artist's Matte Fixative for my decalled roadrailers and trailers in case it actually was the Dullcote.)

It appears now, though, that the glossy-finish Bowser trailers will yellow no matter what you do to them. Bummer.

Well I guess that's one more manufacturer to stay away from.

I have 25 TC Roadrailers (some from the original run). I keep them in their boxes in my very damp basement when not running and they still look the same as when I bought them.
