Charlie,
you're such a contradiction! :-)
How can some new product be "developed and designed in your living room" and yet you "have no direct, family or professional involvement in"?? Was someone else developing something in your living room?! Even so, since this was *your* living room, that makes you involved in this product. Doesn't it?

I think it will be a totally new manufacturer that releases their first model railroading product in any scale.

My guess is that it will be----

-----the Possum Trot and Westerns 18" gauge 2-0-2 that was used exclusively on the branchline to Dogbarf..........

Then I hope it's Mike Skibbe's NYC flexi-van trailer flat from the 1950's . That would be very warmly welcomed by me .

I keep hoping that Atlas will release a RS32/36 in N scale. I'm actually surprised they haven't done it already....

Blow the roof off? Must be a Niagara in N scale.

Or maybe that 2-10-0 motor was decided on which will lead to Victor's 4-4-2 and a 4-6-0 , and others ? This would be worth party balloons .

While it would be nice to see a decent small steamer produced and Bachmann is the one to do it, I'd be surprised to see it announced next week. I do hope and expect there to be a new loco announced, just not sure if it'll be steam.

An AS616 would be appreciated.

OMGoodness! Bachmann to announce their N Russian is shipping in all announced roads plus two previously unmentioned numbers in Western Maryland...[:-glasses] LOL

...And Kato shares their SD40 tooling with our hosts at Atlas to supply the N scale community with all the roads our HO friends have been able to purchase for years.

I am impressed with the Chessie GE on the publicity shot for the Trainfest. Great taste!

The question is who lives close enough to Charlie and is friends enough with him to use his crib for R&D on an unknown non car or loco that will or might be announced next week . What state does Charlie live in ?

I am expecting Bachmann to announce a GE 70-ton locomotive now that several of us have put Randy Gustafson's 70-ton shell on 44-ton mechanisms! If they do, my hope is that it will be an early version and, thus, save me from having to modify the second of Randy's shells that I have.

Cheers,

This is quite funny to me. The few on the board who personally know me, know that I also know exactly what “raising the roof” item is, and I am actually pretty sure I know what Charlie is talking about. Keep in mind he is talking about two different things here…..One from a manufacturer (no involvement), and one he was directly involved in designing in his living room.

And for the record, Charlie does not live in the same state any of these manufacturers :
Atlas
Bachmann
Deluxe Innovation
Con-Cor
Athearn
Bowser
Lionel
MTH
Walthers
Woodland scenics
Branchline
CMV
DMP
Broadway Limited
Precision Craft

I hope some of you can wait. I will be on site Friday until Sunday, taking pictures and posting news all day. I will be at one of the booths mentioned above (can’t say for now), but I will have either a CNW, MP, or UP Heritage shirt on, with my name “Rich” on it, Stop by and say hi!

Regards,
Rich

So Charlie lives in the same state that Kato has a US office in.

I wonder if the 'roof raising' has anything to do with a FULL DOME roof. Again... Milwaukee Road... fits this venue and car type as well. Since Kato has been doing Santa Fe consists... El Cap and Super Chief...as well as Amtrak... a Full Dome/Great Dome etc would fit well in Kato' line of passenger car offerings. Of course... would that mean Kato may do a Milwaukee Road Hiawatha consist? I don't know... and I think Charlie has 'sort-of' nixed the Kato announcement possibility as well. That brings me back to Walthers as possibly announcing a Hiawatha consist and beginning it with a Full Dome car. The more I look at the clues... the more confusing it is. [:-bigeyes]

NEWS FLASH!!! New thought on the manufacturer of this 'roof raising' event. The guess of a Milwaukee Road OR Santa Fe FULL DOME car is correct AFAIK (could be both!)... the manufacturer which fits the item is...

CENTRAILIA CAR SHOPS/DES PLAINES HOBBIES

Maybe the roof raising announcment will be that Walthers will actuall announce, produce, and deliver passenger cars in a resonable time. Think of how many Kato complete sets have come out since the announced their first sleeper car and the lag until the baggage, now waiting on a coach. No announcement if they are doing any other cars in the future that I have seen. Slowly but surely my NP train is coming together.
