John, you startled me when I saw my name on the thread...thought it was an obituary or something. Milwaukee was great fun. All the usuals were there, including Atlas. Lots of really neat layouts although only 1 or two in 2 rail. Jerry mentioned some neat stuff coming out, which I'll let him introduce. And, I got my 2 cents in regarding lights and other things. I appreciate that we're able to have some input with Atlas. From what I could tell, no one was at the booth at noon Saturday other than myself. So I got to meet me, which really wasn't that big a thrill. Don't know where anyone else was. I can tell you this, when I left Saturday about 1:00pm, there was still a line stretching outside for those wishing to get tickets to get inside. Amazing. |

When I saw the title to this thread I thought that either
1. John Albee had been banned for demandng Mars lights and SP light packages
2. He had won an award for ordering his 500th 2-rail Atlas product
(The obituary crossed my mind but I hoped for the best as I clicked and was rewarded by finding out Johnwas still with us and Atlas's future solvency was secured.) [:-bouncy]

boy, if they're counting on me to keep them solvent, they're in big trouble. Bill, you're gonna have to jump in and order 10 to 20 units, all gold, and prepay 'em to keep things fluid! And..."demand mars lights, etc"???? Mr. Kimble will attest that your humble messenger merely meekly asked about such items in a kindly gentlemanly way. still shot down, ha!

Hey John,
Did you happen to stop by our Madison O-Scale modular setup? Besides us, there was a nice O-Scale traction group and the Milwaukee Union Terminal (MUT) group represented at the show as well a several 3-rail groups.
Nothing earth shaking at the show although Atlas confirmed that a new scale coupler is comming and compatible with Kadees. I've had several couplers fail running at shows. Atlas-O will be doing other passener roads after the CZ cars are out.

Hey Rusty, yes I did and it was very neat. I think you guys were the only 2 railers in the house. I was watching the kids react to your crossing signals as the trains passed, they were astonished. Great layout! By the time I got to you guys I was begining to have "glazed over eyes" from just seeing so much. Then you got to have a train show hotdog and nachos to get your energy back. And a $3.50 Diet Coke. |

Hi Guys, I am sorry I missed you at the Atlas booth. I got tied up and lost track of time. Jerry K. told me I just missed you all. i think I am always in awe of the Milwaukee Light Rail trolley set-up...AND the HI-Railers too! What a combination. Great show! |

Phil, me too! My first thought was that maybe I had passed. But I guess I'd be the first to know. Sure hope I went up. |

| I thought the same when I first read it! Glad to see the reports of your demise were greatly exaggerated! |

| Honestly, it's a little sobering that this is a guy's first thought. |

John, it's good to know you're alive and well. I have to admit my fist thoughts after seeing your name here was that you somehow wound up on the wrong side of the grass. I'm glad that's not the case.
Rhoobarb,
your Czech Proverb is a very wise man. :)
Today is Friday for me, wahoo!
John

Dan, old boy, man, they had you dead and gone. What'd you say to your jokester brother? Amazing number of ancient references to old ways of doing things on the net. And...Santa Fe is STILL running locos older than you are, but not by much! |
