A monument to insanity, if ever there was one. Begun in early 1999, shelved on and off for years, but finally, done.
PRR fans, I know the engine number is not in the "T1 range". But I had to find something on all the available decal sheets for the cab number, number board AND the keystone badge on the nose (I wasn't about to apply 4 separate number-board or badge digits!). This was the closest I could come (should be 5503). Forgive me. I know I have sinned.
For all its flaws, like they say to Babe the pig, "That'll do, pig, that'll do."
I'll post a few other photos when I get a chance. Right now, I'm a-goin' to bed.

On your Layout, do what you think is fun. If it doesn't work, fix it and learn from the experience so you will have fun next time. It's your Railroad. |

The handy part of being a PRR fan is that you have a virtually unlimited supply of prototype projects that are 'one of a kind' and are monuments the large-scale engineering expirimentation.
Very well done. Excellent appearance. Whatever flaws are in by design that I certainly can't see, they will only serve to make the critics search deeply!

| Superb job on a difficult to model locomotive! But, it is much too clean for a T1. Understand they were the dirtiest, smokiest locomotive ever created by the PRR. In almost every photo I've ever seen of one it was filthy and accompanied by a large cloud of black smoke. [:-bigeyes2] |

3rdRail: Yeah, I know they were always filthy. But... but... I just finished it. I don't have the heart to dirty it up [:-cry]
up1950s: Yes, it runs pretty smooth. I posted pics and movies of it as I've been building it. It's based on two Concor/Kato Hudson mechanisms, with dual can motors, so it creeps and glides pretty well.

I have drawings. And pics, and notes on doing one. I just haven't gotten around to actually 'doing'. |
